Terms of use

The short version: this is an owner’s notes, not veterinary advice. Your vet’s plan always comes first.

Sunny, owner notes“I wish my dog lived as long as I do.”Updated

I'm an owner, not a vet. This is not veterinary advice, so check anything medical with your own vet.

Who runs First Light

I’m Sunny. I live in India, and my Labrador Cooper has diabetes. I write First Light as his owner. I’m not a vet.

This isn’t veterinary advice

Everything here is general information to help you understand your dog’s care and talk to your vet. It can’t diagnose your dog or replace a check-up. Always follow your own vet.

Insulin amounts and any change to treatment must come only from your vet. Please don’t alter your dog’s treatment because of something you read here.

If your dog seems unwell, is weak or wobbly, or won’t eat, call your vet or an emergency clinic straight away. The urgent help page lists the signs to watch for.

How the pages are written

No vet has reviewed this site. The pages are based on public vet guidance, published studies and what owners like me have been through. I try to keep them right, but they may be out of date or wrong. You use them at your own risk.

Links to other sites

The Sources page and some other pages link to sites I don’t run. I can’t control what they say, and they may change or go offline.

Your notes

Anything you type into the log stays in your own browser. I never see it. The privacy page explains how that works.

Sharing what’s here

What I write on First Light is mine. You’re welcome to share links to any page, or to print a sheet for your own dog. Please don’t copy whole pages onto another site.

Changes and contact

I may update these terms now and then. The date at the top shows the last change. If you have a question, see the contact page.
